Grief is a positive emotion. It enables us to heal from sadness or loss in our lives, however we all grieve differently. Some feel devastated by loss they can talk about nothing else and may appear "stuck" and unable to move on.

Others believe they must suffer in silence. Current losses may have triggered off old unexpressed grief from previous losses such as in childhood. The feelings for the lost person may not be straight forward.  A difficult relationship may result in confusion about grief. The grief may be complicated when the person has not died for example a divorce or broken family relationships.
